If you want to learn without managing a clutch pedal and manual gear changes, automatic tuition may be the right route for you.
LPD Driving School provides automatic driving lessons in Southampton. Automatic vs manual
An automatic vehicle changes gear for you. There is no clutch pedal for you to control and you do not manually move through the gears in normal driving.
That means your early lessons can spend less time on clutch control, stalling and manual gear selection.
A strong automatic course should teach you to become a safe driver, not simply a driver who can operate an easier gearbox.
Who it suits
If you have never driven before, automatic tuition lets you begin without adding clutch control and manual gear changes to the first set of tasks.

If you stopped learning months or years ago, an initial session can identify what you still remember and what needs rebuilding.
If you pass the practical driving test in an automatic car, your car licence will be restricted to automatic vehicles. If you later want to drive a manual car, GOV.UK states that you can upgrade by passing a practical driving test in a manual car — you do not need another theory test for that upgrade.
